Hey dearest People...!
So today I saw this beautiful dress in an advertisement and jus had to start doing it... :P well its so easy to make and looks perfect as a date-night or cocktail dress!

I have made the patterns but am going to wait for my body form that I ordered to arrive before I start the Draping... :P
Here Katie Holmes has this dress with a high neck band at the top but I was thinking more of a V-shaped neck band which this fellow blogger>> Zibergirlsewing shows with fine details!! :)
Lets quickly go through the pattern plan here... They show her picking up the dress from her closet and it definitely has a full flowy circle going on...
Since its a full dress to be made from the circle ,take the length you want along the mid-torso from the neck to the point you want it to end.

Next the same stuff... ust to fold the fabric in half and cut the outer circle (after adding the allowances)
Now as you see in the Fig. The circle is cut along the diameter to get the half circles... if you are cutting the circles as half circles already then you dont need to do that! :P
Cut one of these half circles into half further

Next Stitch the Quarter pieces together leaving space for the zipper! Dont stitch the Half circles yet though!

After that it's time to put together the half circles to the neck band... you can Do small pleats along the neck (for that you are going to have to cut the neck line of the circle a lil wider) for any adjustments / style... :)or you can jus do this!! >>
Now its time to drape it ... Do the dress inside out and Place the slit parts of the half circle such that they form the sides of the dress and start pinning down the underarms loosely :)
Stitch the sides of the along the pins( right sides facing each other)
Well for the lining inside only a half circle form of same pattern will do.. :)
Though adding a belt is must for this dress... its still so easy to throw on in the morning or even at night parties!! :) <3
Lots of Love!
