Its So near Durga puja and I just cant help sharing these interesting facts about it which I hardly Knew before ma Grandparents explained it to me!! XD
But first “Subho Mohaloya” To all Benagli(s)/hindus and All those who Understand the concept (or not) :P Basically its a Dramatic Preview of the Legendary story of the Hindus Performed by various artists, About An Extraordinary ” One Woman Army”… Goddess DURGA ! Its quite fun to watch every year without ever getting tired of it… and It has a strong ” Woman Power” appeal in it!
ON this day ,It is the start of the Devi -paksha(দেবী পক্ষ) …i. e this day is the last day you can Pay respect and pray for the good graces of your ancestors in the River and you should in fact never forget to offer them food…The myth goes like if you don’t do this in your life , you ‘ll not be getting any food in your own afterlife… :O
So The main Idea in this ritual is charity of food…Hlping others can be done in a lot of ways and offering food to the hungry is considered a must as karma works that way and you get back what you provide… :)

Brahma(one of the three oldest gods in the Hindu book) Is the guy behind all Chaos Most of the time … XD As he is too open hearted and easily moved by little devotion… Most of the demons gained boons from him easily and used against the welfare of others but this guy never stops trusting demons…:P ! He’s very good with little catch in the statements though… ;)

Another creepy thing is Mahalaya id observed on a New moon Day and the spirits of the holy Ancestors are said to be risen and reside in the homes of their descendants for a fortnight…For good reasons Mostly … XD
We all know that the mahalaya is broadcasted on radio every year early in the morning but did you know the first broadcast dates as early as the 30’s

Its customary that only on this day the eyes of Durga goddess idols are Painted by the Artists.. :)

Well that was so fun knowing on this day.. I got up at 4 o’ clock in the morning as the relatives started coming and fell asleep halfway the programme was over! XD Lol ..anyways all my cousin bros and sisters fell asleep even earlier.. hehe like that’s an achievement! :P Talk to later again guys!
